Message from the Pastor

February, 2010

Dear Church Family:

How do you see yourself? Do you see yourself as a champion who wins every fight? Or do you see yourself as one that struggles along, never seeming to conquer a problem?

The Bible says in Romans 8:37, “Yet in all of these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.”
It is a simple fact that we will inevitably project what we feel about ourselves to others around us. So this question about how you see yourself is very important. If you see yourself as a champion who wins every fight, that is exactly how others will see you. But if you see yourself as someone who struggles and wrestles with a bad self-image, that is exactly how others will see you as well.
In the Greek the meaning for “more than” means “We are greater conquerors, superior conquerors, higher and better conquerors.” “We are more than a match for any foe.”

The word conqueror means “over-comer, champion, victor or master.” It is a picture of an overwhelming prevailing force.

That is who we are in Jesus Christ! So stop looking at yourself as a struggling loser. Begin to look at yourself through the eyes of God and His Word in Romans 8:37. It declares that you are always a winner and never a loser! When you begin to see yourself as God sees you It will not only change how you feel about yourself but how others feel about you as well!
God has great things in store for every one of His children!

God bless you!
